I read teleread often - today I noticed that they have some personalisation in place, in the form of a sidebar widget that says “Hello Andrew Boyd Help us pay teleread’s hosting bills - Click to Give”. There is a link underneath this invitation that leads you to Amazon’s Honor System page.
Amazon’s Honor System was introduced in 2001 - and not all thought it honorable. Some thought it raised serious privacy concerns.
What is the situation in 2007? A search on technorati for posts tagged amazon-honor-system shows a lot of blogs using it, but none ranting about it. It looks as if the Amazon Honor System is now an accepted part of the landscape. Does the rantable become the norm over time?
